Oak Terrace Preserve
Phase I is in full swing. Since our move in February, 5 homes seem to have become occupied and 3 others have SOLD signs on them. Very exciting progress!
I came across your blog while Googling "Oak Terrace Preserve". My fiancee and I are closing on our house in OTP at the end of this month, so I thought I'd say hi.
Question - what have you heard in regards to cable tv/internet in OTP? Comcast told me they don't service OTP, and I've heard Home Telephone company is running fiber conduit in the neighborhood. Any word on when they may go "live" with service?
Richard, Hi, great to hear from you. Congratulations on your new home.
Comcast currently provides to East Dolphin Street. Therefore, my household is able to have wireless internet/cable/phone through them. I've heard that they are supposed to eventually provide to the interior streets as well. I am not sure when. I think they've missed the target date. AT&T DSL should be available. Residents have been using Direct TV and Dish Network where Comcast is unavailable. Home Telephone has run the fiber conduit in our alley; I have not been told when it will go live, but I have placed a call to them and will post any information I receive.
Also, FYI: OTP is having a "meet your neighbor" informal gathering next Monday, 6pm, at Sesame. If you don't know, Sesame is a great little burger joint just off to the right of East Montague as you head to downtown N. Chas. We'd love to have you join us.
We're in the interior (East Liberty) so we are in the non-serviceable area. With the cobblestones going in the alleys Comcast better hurry and run their fiber otherwise they could be left out.
We are planning to be at the meet and greet next Monday.
